The Bushfire Risk Management Research Hub
The NSW Government launched the Bushfire Risk Management Research Hub in February 2018 to research ways to improve fire management strategies, and reduce the risk bushfires pose to people, property and the environment.
The University of Wollongong will host the new Hub for the next five years, leading a team of world-class experts from Western Sydney University, University of New South Wales and University of Tasmania.
Saving our Species program
Saving our Species is our statewide program that aims to secure threatened plants and animals in the wild in NSW.
NSW Rural Fire Service
The NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is the lead combat agency for bush fires in NSW. For over 100 years we have been a significant part of the history and landscape of NSW. Working closely with other agencies we respond to a range of emergencies including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents and storms that occur within rural fire districts.
NSW Rural Fire Service Association
The NSW Rural Fire Service Association (RFSA) is proud to be recognised as the representative association of the volunteers and staff of the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW Rural Fires Act 1997). The Association is managed by its Members and our primary aim is ‘Supporting our Members to Protect the Community’. We are the Authoritative Voice in representing the volunteers of the NSW RFS.
